Deacon Nicholas Belcher, Assistant Director of the Office of Vocation & Ministry, was the keynote speaker for the East Coast College Conference held at the Antiochian Village from December 27-31, 2007. Audio of Dn. Nicholas' keynote talks, as well as a wrap-up interview, can be found online here at Ancient Faith Radio.
Dn. Nicholas gave three talks on the conference theme "Seek First the Kingdom of God." The first talk focused on how this scriptural passage, taken from Matthew 6:33, calls us to our true vocation to love God with all of our mind, heart, soul, and strength, and our neighbor as our self. The second talk addressed the vocation of a college student, and the third pointed to living our vocation beyond the college years.
The College Conference is a rapidly growing ministry of Orthodox Christian Fellowship held every year over Christmas break.
The Office of Vocation & Ministry (OVM) at Hellenic
College trains and educates faithful, energetic, high achieving, and
service oriented Orthodox Christian young people to be leaders in the church as
priests and lay people.
