Classics and Greek Studies

The program, which offers an integrated course of study leading to B.A. in Classics, is quite unique. Like most programs at other institutions the Classics at Hellenic College offers students the opportunity to study the rich legacy of ancient Greece and Rome and can lead to graduate studies in a wide variety of fields, such as Comparative Literature, Linguistics, History and Archeology, Philosophy and Politics. Its uniqueness, however, is to be found in its course offerings that may also include Byzantine and Modern Greek language and literature. Thus the students are afforded the opportunity to explore and appreciate the continuity of an ancient culture that has survived through Byzantium to the present. Moreover, our students could receive a full scholarship to study for a semester or a year at a university in Greece and their degrees are recognized by the Greek state.
